Expert Treatment for Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow occurs when the tissue that connects your forearm muscle to your elbow becomes irritated and painful. Our sports medicine specialists are highly experienced in providing effective treatment options for tennis elbow. Our multidisciplinary team works together to develop a customized treatment plan that fits your needs and goals for dealing with this painful condition.

Treatments for Tennis Elbow Relief We Offer

If your tennis elbow is mild, your doctor may recommend you rest your elbow for at least two or three weeks. You can also try to ice, elevate your elbow and take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory.

If these treatments aren’t enough to relieve you, our doctors may recommend a cortisone or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in your elbow. PRP uses platelets from your own blood to promote healing in your body. These treatments can help reduce your pain and inflammation (swelling), and results usually last a few months.

Your doctor may also recommend that you work with a physical therapist (PT) to make changes in your technique, equipment or duration of play, so your tennis elbow doesn’t flare up again. PT can provide tennis elbow therapy to help you restore a full range of motion, increase your strength and minimize pressure on your forearm muscles.
