Dr. Loh-Doyle is a urologist at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in male sexual dysfunction, trauma and reconstructive surgery.

Here’s what you won’t find on his resume.

Basketball fueled his youth.

“When I was growing up, I wanted to be a Los Angeles Laker, but then I stopped growing. I also wanted to become a surgeon. I really enjoyed working with my hands and building things. I was fascinated with the elegance of the human body and its function. Reconstructive urology is the perfect career, because I can rebuild and restore quality of life.”

You may have seen him on Runyon Canyon.

“I really enjoy the outdoors, eating and listening to music. During my free time, there is a good chance that you will find me on a hike in the Los Angeles area, at the beach, listening to an eclectic mix of music or enjoying a delicious meal in Thai town or a food truck. Sometimes, I take trips to my favorite travel destination, Tulum, Mexico.”

His bucket list is waiting for him.

“There are still many things that I want to do on my bucket list. Three of them include: going on a safari, swimming with great white sharks and going heli-skiing.”

His career is his love.

“There is no one I would ever trade careers with. I am living the dream.”

College led him down a unique entrepreneurial journey.

“People are surprised to learn that I ran a successful event planning and promotion business, during college and medical school.”

There were big shoes to fill.

“My father is my biggest role model. He grew up in the middle of the countryside in Ireland, put himself through engineering school and immigrated to Los Angeles, where he founded a successful engineering company and raised a wonderful family.”

Excellence drives him.

“The best piece of advice I ever received was, ‘You should never be satisfied with anything short of excellence.’ I live by that motto to this day.”

Restoring quality of life is his life’s purpose.

“I’m fortunate to say that most of my patients describe me as personable and conscientious. The most rewarding part of my job is restoring someone’s quality of life. Oftentimes, patients suffer both physically and mentally. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to solve those issues. That is why I focus my energy and passion into making a difference in my patients’ lives.”

Keck Medicine of USC is his home.

“I love being part of the Trojan Family and being surrounded by academic, surgical and technological excellence.”
