Dr. Ahearn is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery and Associate Director of the Liver Transplantation program at Keck Medicine of USC. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Ahearn specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation and is one of the surgeons who performs living-donor liver transplants at Keck Medicine of USC. He is a highly skilled hepatobiliary surgeon, performing resections for liver and pancreas cancer as well as biliary reconstructions. Dr. Ahearn's PhD is in HIV Immunology, and he has applied that insight to his extensive research and experience in transplant immunology.
