Raghuveer Ranganathan, MD

Raghuveer Ranganathan, MD, is a hematologist at Keck Medicine of USC, who treats blood cancers and specializes in blood and marrow transplants, as well as care for patients diagnosed with lymphoma. He offers cellular immunotherapies, CAR T-cell therapies and performs autologous bone marrow transplants at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Keck Medicine.

Dr. Ranganathan believes that open and clear communication is the most critical foundational aspect of any doctor-patient relationship. He ensures that each of his patients thoroughly understand their diagnosis and therapy options. Dr. Ranganathan provides care with the goal of boosting the patient’s confidence and creating as smooth of a treatment process as possible.

His research interests are focused on improving cellular therapy for blood cancers, specifically by utilizing the patient’s own immune system to eradicate the cancer. Dr. Ranganathan is especially interested in advancing CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) T-cell therapy, which involves genetically modifying a patient’s white blood cells to fight cancer more effectively. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has delivered presentations around the United States and in Canada. He is a member of professional organizations, including the American Association of Clinical Research, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

When he’s not working, Dr. Ranganathan enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking in the scenic California mountains.
