Sara Munoz Hout, M.S., LMFT is a clinical instructor of psychiatry and the behavioral sciences (psychotherapist) and licensed marriage and family therapist at USC’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences Clinic at University Park Campus (PBHS@UPC.). As a psychotherapist, she provides therapy services specializing in chronic mental illness. Mrs. Hout offers intermediate, time-limited, evidence-based care to USC students.
Her professional interests include PTSD (acute trauma, chronic trauma, complex trauma), neurodivergent disorders, generalized anxiety disorders and depression. Sara is passionate about providing services to first generation college students, students with complex trauma, neurodiverse women, students of Catholic faith and BIPOC women.
Sara utilizes strength-based therapy, trauma-focused/trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, mind-body focus, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy and CBT for ADHD. She provides referrals for ADHD testing and links students with those supports and resources needed to create balance between a rigorous academic life and positive mental health.
