Austin Fan, MD, is a fellowship-trained infectious disease specialist at Keck Medicine of USC. His patients can expect a holistic approach with a focus on education, as Dr. Fan always strives to empower his patients to take active roles in managing their health care.
Dr. Fan emphasizes trust as the most important aspect of the doctor-patient relationship. He works collaboratively with each patient to customize a treatment plan that best aligns with their individual needs and goals.
His work centers on ways to combat antimicrobial resistance and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Fan is also passionate about championing inclusive health care for the LGBTQ+ community and advocating for patients with HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Fan received a bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and his medical degree from the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Fan enjoys traveling, mountaineering, trying new recipes, exploring Los Angeles restaurants and collecting houseplants. He grew up in West Los Angeles and is excited about the opportunity to serve his hometown community.
