Duraiyah Thangathurai, MD

Dr. Thangaturai was educated in Sri Lanka prior to attending the Royal Northern Hospital in London, UK for his residency. He later came to southern California in 1982 on a fellowship at UCLA and is currently a professor of clinical anesthesiology with a joint appointment in urology and surgery at the University of Southern California. Dr. Thangathurai has extraordinary international experience including board certifications from Ireland, United Kingdom, Austraila, New Zealand and the United States. He is a member of more than 10 professional societies, such as the California Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Thangathurai’s clinical interests include anesthesia for high-risk cancer patients, acute pain management and addiction medicine and end of life care.
