About Fred A. Weaver, MD

Fred A. Weaver, MD, MMM, is a recognized leader in vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular therapy. He has been named a Best, Top and Super Doctor by various local and national publications, according to Castle Connolly.

His research focuses on treatment of aortic aneurysms and dissections to prevent rupture and death; stroke prevention in carotid artery disease; and lower leg peripheral vascular disease, with the goal of avoiding amputations. A sought-after speaker at regional, national and international meetings, he has published more than 200 articles and 43 textbook chapters.

Dr. Weaver serves as chair of the Society for Vascular Surgery’s (SVS) Vascular Quality Initiative and has held other key roles in professional organizations, including past president of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery (SCVS), Western Vascular Society and Pacific Coast Surgical Association.

Away from work, Dr. Weaver devotes time to his family and his church, along with reading and golf. He grew up in Orange County and lives in the La Crescenta area.

I had a significant medical issue as a teenager that led me to pursue medicine. For my own patients, I begin with a global assessment of their vascular condition and complaint, then I develop a patient-tailored treatment plan and long-term follow-up and management. All of this is done with a professional and compassionate approach, where the patients welfare is the first consideration.

I have followed many patients for years. This relationship is important for me, my staff and the patients we serve who have vascular disease, which is a lifelong condition.
