John R. Hubanks, MD, FACS, specializes in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He serves as adjunct clinical professor (voluntary) for the USC Tina and Rick Caruso Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, and for many years as attending staff at both Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Hubanks earned his medical degree from Loyola Medical School of Chicago. He completed a rotating internship with Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. He also completed several residencies, at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, the Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, and the Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. He was a United States Air Force Major, serving in the Medical Corps at March Air Force Base in California, from 1969 to 1971.
Dr. Hubanks previously held several leadership roles at Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, including Chief of Surgery, Board of Trustees, Secretary-Treasurer Medical Staff, and Chief of Staff. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the LA Research Study Club, and has been active in the LA Society of Otolaryngology, Southern California American College of Surgeons, and the Los Angeles Medical Golf Association.
Dr. Hubanks has served as a voluntary physician with the USC Athletic Department since 1981 to present day, working with USC athletes, trainers and coaches from all athletic sports, both men and women.
