Peter S. Chung, MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist and intensivist at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in pulmonary critical care and lung transplantation. Dr. Chung provides personalized care and believes that developing trust is the most important aspect of his relationship with his patients.
Dr. Chung’s pulmonary medicine research focuses on cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation. He has also co-authored a number of peer-reviewed articles on subjects such as bariatric surgery and obstructive sleep apnea and has written book chapters on pulmonary infection and narcolepsy. In addition, Dr. Chung has delivered a wide variety of presentations in various areas, such as critical iron deficiency anemia, pulmonary embolism, drug pharmacokinetics and lung transplants in patients with cystic fibrosis.
Dr. Chung is dedicated to providing service and establishing leadership roles in the medical community and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) and the American Society of Transplantation. In addition to his clinical and research work, he has a passion for education and serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
Outside of work, Dr. Chung enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his dogs, as well as listening to music, exploring new cuisines and traveling.
